Shh(Hello)

You think the water is deep, and then you realize its shallowness when you get hit by a rock once you plunge.

Wait weighs too much....

For All....

A brighter day,
Lesser dismay,
More friends,
Full hands,
More to live
and enough to give.

Har soch samay naal bajji hai,

Wrote it as a comment to a friends post and thought of posting it here too.....

Passing Thoughts

It is not very uncommon to see upturned umbrellas due to breeze during Mumbai monsoon. It was one of these occasion when I thought this :

Was this feature knowingly accomodated in the architecture of the umbrella to shield the person from getting off-balance due to the force of the wind OR is it just a serendipity.

SHORTS V/s LONGS

As the 158 Years of a firms History is fast getting registered as HISTORY, I may find myself SHORT on OPTIONS but LONG on Experience.

I Was There

Years later, when I read these lines, I would recollect that - I Was There when it unfolded.

The Phoenix lost his strength to be reborn.

Believe me First Hand Experiences are not that GOOD.

My dialogue With the Road To Nowhere

On a new dawn I take to the Road,
To chase my destiny was the oath.
Me : Where do you lead me to?
Road : Wherever you wish me to.

A few miles down I travel,
and saw some green pastures unravel.
Me : Is this where my destiny lies?
Road : See the horizon before thinking twice.

And I leave the scenic place,
Surging ahead to find My space.
Me : Will I ever reach the horizon?
Road : Who knows, till then enjoy the sun.

The terrain changes to a desert ground,
Others on the road turn around.
Me : Will anyone ever pass through?
Road : Now onwards its only Me and you.

Its years and I am still walking,
Eyes on the pinnacle with snowlike clouds flocking.
Me : What after I reach there?
Road : Take some other road to Somewhere.

Do Paase

Eh Umaro lamba safar mera,
Kuch langh aayaan kuch baaki hai.
Jo supna vekhya zindagi da,
Kuch aaki te kuch khaaki hai.

Mein maanjeya hoya zindagi da,
par daag haje vi baaki hai.
Menu aapni kuch bhi khabar nahin,
Mein saari duniya jhaaki hai.

Do log mere wich vasde ne,
Ek bhogi ek vairaagi hai.
Hun rooh meri de do paase,
Ek dudh chitta ek daagi hai.

Vision through Closed Eyes

A few things in life can only be seen when you close your eyes.

(Though I wanted to elaborate why I wrote this I have decided against it as it would seem more of a Preaching and I am not a Preacher as yet)

Static Me, Dynamic Thee

Everything except me in this world is passing by in a flurry off late. Dynamics of the Life around have liitle effect on my Static Self. Everything reaching my ears is News these days. Be it wedding of a few friends, preparation of wedding for a few others, Stepping in Parenthood of one of the closest friend, Professional development of people close to me or Anything and Everything as a matter of fact. Right now when I write this I am talking to 'Mahamantri' , who is quite close to the centrestage on his elder Bro's wedding in Ahmedabad.
In all this I feel like a Donkey (I feel like writing ASS but I never liked it as a word) stuck amidst heavy traffic on a busy mumbai road. I dont know why but when all of the world is running mad , I am slowing everything down. As If I have a few more years to spend then everyone else.
Last weekend was a bit happening ( by my standards ) as I was in Pune with 'Birbal' without any reasons to be there. This is the beauty: When you have no plans, everything that happens is a takeaway. So the time was good. We took a special pic. (Though whats special will never be mentioned)

Corpse of a tree

"On my return to an old known road, I witness a tree surrounded with Axes. Caught a word that a new road will be passing through and the timber may be utilized in some bridge. The next time I return, I will trample the corpse of the tree whose shade I had enjoyed."

(The above is the English translation of a piece of poetry in Punjabi that I wrote some time back. The original is available at : http://guljinder.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html )

Lessons from Roadside

The other day while walking by the roadside, I witnessed a man beating the Chain-cover of his old cycle with a stone. So drowned was he in the act that it seems that making the cycle run again was the most valuable to him.I felt a pang and was thinking about something valuable to me.
Why is that what you value is away from you. Or is it the other way round? You value something that is away.

Needs V/s Wants

Last couple of days have been an eye opener. I have realized how much a cobweb of WANTS have ve woven around us.Whereas what we NEED is really a small proportion of it. Its hurting to shift from Luxuries to absolute necessities, but that is the only way to realize the difference and enjoy the luxuries the next time.
Punchline:
Stick to your needs and enjoy whenever a WANT is granted, but never get used to it.

Shayad

Garm loo ke thhapedo sa yeh garmi ka pehar,
Samandar ki teh se utthti yeh toofaani lehar,
Khud ko jo chhupa loon to, guzar jaaye shayad.

Laakhon armaano se ye ret ke daane,
Jin se jud gaye rishte jaane anjaane,
Mutthi mein daba loon to, fisal jaayein shayad.

In eento mein saaf nazar aati yeh daraarein,
Aur taash ke patton si yeh dehti deewarein,
Do haath laga doon to, sambhal jaaye shayad.

Barf ki silliyon se sard ye patthar ki nazar,
Aur usme nazar aati kuch armaano ki kabar,
Do ashq giraa doon to, pighal jaaye shayad.
Do ashq giraa doon to, pighal jaaye shayad.
